MORE THAN WHAT HAPPENED

Gym Journals asks what you think about it.

Gym Floor Stories preserves the moments people experience in the gym. Gym Journals steps back from those moments and examines the ideas, assumptions, values, and questions behind them.

This is the editorial department of The Platform. It is a place for informed opinions, personal reflections, cultural observations, thoughtful disagreements, and perspectives that deserve more room than a caption or comment section can provide.

Some entries will come from SWOLE(ish) Co. Others will come from guest contributors with experience, insight, or a point of view worth considering.

The goal is not to tell everyone what to think. It is to make gym culture worth thinking about.

STRONG OPINIONS NEED STRONG FOUNDATIONS

Have a perspective. Give it a purpose.

Gym Journals welcomes opinion, but opinion is not an excuse for careless claims, empty outrage, or arguments built around stereotypes.

Each editorial should have a clear point, acknowledge relevant context, distinguish personal experience from universal truth, and contribute something meaningful to the larger conversation.

Writers do not need to remove personality or avoid disagreement. They do need to be honest about what they know, what they experienced, and what they are interpreting.

Be honest. Be specific. Have a point.

THE EDITORIAL PROCESS

From question to published perspective.

Every Gym Journal should begin with a clear question or argument and develop it into something readers can understand, consider, and respond to.

01 — QUESTION

Identify the point

Begin with one meaningful question, observation, disagreement, or idea about gym culture.

03 — CONTRIBUTE

Give readers something useful

End with a perspective, question, implication, or challenge that adds value to the larger conversation.
